.75 FTE 4-year-old Preschool Classroom Teacher

Preschool Teacher – 4-Year-Old Classroom

(.75 FTE | 3-Day Preschool | 2026–27 School Year)

Ireton Christian School is seeking a caring, faith-filled Preschool Teacher to lead our 4-year-old classroom beginning August 1, 2026.

At Ireton Christian School, our mission is to partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education that nurtures students academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We believe young children are created in God’s image and are called to learn, grow, and serve in ways appropriate to their God-given gifts. Our preschool program reflects this mission by building a strong foundation for learning while pointing children to Christ through daily relationships and instruction.

Position Overview

This position serves our 3-day preschool program within a 4-day school-week structure, equating to .75 FTE. The preschool teacher will create a joyful, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom that supports kindergarten readiness and fosters curiosity, independence, and faith.

Full-time employment may be negotiable depending on additional qualifications and school needs.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Time Middle School ELA Teacher

This full-time position teaches middle school Language Arts and 1 additional core subject within our 4-day school week structure. The teacher will foster strong literacy skills, literary understanding, and thoughtful discussion while building meaningful relationships and modeling Christ-centered character.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school Language Arts and additional core class with clarity, enthusiasm, and purpose

  • Design engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and skill development

  • Integrate biblical truth and a Christian worldview throughout instruction and classroom culture

  • Support students’ academic growth, character development, and faith formation

  • Maintain clear, positive communication with families

  • Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, mission-driven school community

  • Create a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment

Qualifications

  • A commitment to Christian education and a love for teaching middle school students

  • Valid Iowa teaching certificate (required)

  • Endorsements in Language Arts or related areas preferred

Full-Time elementary paraprofessional

This full-time paraprofessional position supports elementary classrooms within our 4-day school week structure. The paraprofessional works closely with classroom teachers and staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and organizational support to students in both whole-group and small-group settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher

  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assist with classroom organization, materials, and daily routines

  • Support students’ social-emotional growth and positive behavior

  • Provide supervision during transitions, recess, lunch, and other activities as needed

  • Foster a safe, caring, and respectful classroom environment

  • Communicate effectively with teachers and staff as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications

.25 FTE School Social Worker/SEL Teacher

Position Overview

This .25 FTE position supports students through direct social-emotional instruction, small-group work, and individual support within our 4-day school week structure. The School Social Worker / SEL Teacher collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being, resilience, and positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide SEL instruction aligned with Christian values and age-appropriate developmental needs

  • Work with individual students and small groups to support social, emotional, and behavioral growth

  • Collaborate with teachers to support classroom-based SEL practices

  • Assist in developing and implementing student support plans as needed

  • Communicate and partner with families regarding student support and progress

  • Support a positive, safe, and caring school environment

  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding student well-being and social-emotional development

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Christian education and a heart for supporting student well-being

  • Degree or training in social work, counseling, education, or a related field

  • School social work or SEL experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families

Substitute Teacher

To become a substitute teacher at an Ireton Christian School, individuals must hold or obtain a valid Iowa Substitute Authorization or Teaching License through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. ICS also seeks individuals who demonstrate a personal commitment to faith and align with the school’s mission of Christ-centered education.
